Evelyn Duran and
Julia Bumford had three hits on the day while
Melayna Lopez had two hits including her first career home run.
An error allowed the Falcons to score their first run of the day along with some small ball.
Valerie Gonzalez reached second on an error by the left fielder and then advanced on a sacrifice.
Lani Graft flew out to score the Falcons' first run of the season. In the second,
Emily Andress singled home Duran before the team added two more in the third on Lopez's home run.
Bumford singled in a run in the fourth after New Mexico Highlands tied the game at four. The Falcons expanded the lead in the fifth on a two-run single by
Sydney Bishop. Duran added to the led with a two-run triple in the sixth and scored on a sac fly giving the Falcons a 10-5 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, the Cowgirls scored five times after an error extended the inning. With the score tied in the seventh, they score the winning run for the 11-9 final.
In the opening game of the day against Colorado Christian, the Falcon offense was held to just a pair of hits in the 8-0 final.
Bumford finished the day 3-for-5 with a double, RBI, and run scored. Bishop had a pair of RBI in the second game.
