The FalconsÂ
- The Falcons were firing on all cylinders on opening day against University of the Southwest. The team scored 18 runs while allowing only one Mustang run to cross the plate. The Falcon offense had 19 hits including seven for extra bases.
- On the pitching side the Falcons used nine pitchers who struck out ten Mustang hitters. Austin Parks led the way striking out two in his 1.2 innings pitched. Arnaldo Garcia Torres and Clay Thompson combined to strike out four in two innings of work.
- This will be the 34th time the Falcons and Dustdevils play against each other. The Falcons lead the series 19-14 and have won four of the last six games they have played in Laredo.
The Dustdevils
- The Dustdevils bring back their biggest offensive weapon in Matt Kissamis. Kissamis hit .311 last season driving in 14 runs.
- They also bring back their best pitcher in Abanny Garcia. Garcia led the team with 57.1 innings pitched in 2021. He had a 3.92 ERA striking out 55 batters while allowing a .257 batting average.
