The Falcons
  • The Falcons continue to rely on the long ball to power their offense. They are second in the Lone Star Conference with 19 home runs.
  • Garret Thornton is following a big 2021, with a hot start this season.  He is tied for the team lead with four home runs and leads the team with seven extra base hits while driving in 12.  Last year he finished with five homers and 27 RBI.
  • Oswaldo Godina is having his breakout campaign in 2022.  He's tied with Thornton for the team lead with four homers and leads the Falcons with eight RBI.  He's shown terrific patience with a team high eight walks.
  • Yesterday Parker Buys turned in a terrific start against No. 3 West Texas A&M.  The sophomore struck out six over six innings against one of the best offenses in the nation.
  • Michael Clapperton picked up four hits yesterday and raised his batting average to a team high .340, along with five extra base hits and seven RBI.
The Buffs
  • The Buffs have not lost yet this season and vaulted into the top five teams in the nation.  They are averaging 12.4 runs per game and hitting .377 as a team.
  • The Falcons kept the Buffs in check in game two yesterday.  The six runs was their second lowest scoring output of the year and just the third time they were held under 10 runs.
