The Falcons

• The Falcons come in hot, winners of four of their last five to stay alive in the race for the Lone Star Conference playoffs.  The team currently sits in the 13^th spot, just behind UAFS and Eastern New Mexico with two to play.
• On Saturday they rallied down 18 in the third quarter to stun UAFS on Senior Day.  The Falcons outscored the Lions 42-29 in the second half and allowed just 10 points in the fourth quarter in the win.  Holly Hemmeline was hot from deep scoring 15 points in the effort.
• Rory Carter was huge on Thursday as she tied a career high with 18 points.
• Six of the team's 10 conference losses have been by less than 10 points. 
• The Falcons are 2-0 all-time against the Patriots.
• Falcons playoff scenarios:
  • Two wins and a loss by either UAFS or Eastern New Mexico
  • One win and two losses by UAFS
• Eastern New Mexico plays Saturday at home against Western New Mexico.
• UAFS plays Thursday at Midwestern State before finishing at Texas Woman's.

The Patriots

• The Patriots are much improved after winning just three games in their first two seasons at the Division II level.  This year they currently sit in eighth place, but just a game out of a first-round bye in the LSC playoffs.
• On Tuesday the Patriots fell in overtime at Cameron.  They were outscored 30-17 in the second half and 18-9 in the extra period. 
• The team goes through Liah Davis.  The Colorado State transfer leads the team in points and rebounds.  She has posted five double-doubles on the season.
• The Patriots currently are 10^th in the South Central Regional rankings announced yesterday.  The top eight in the region advance to the NCAA Tournament.
