The Falcons
- The team continues to hit home runs at a torrid pace, now hitting 19 on the season. That total still leads the Lone Star Conference. Eleven players this season have gone yard with six having more than one.
- Michael Clapperton has emerged as one of the best shortstops in the LSC this season. He is leading the team in batting average at .342, hits with 13, and doubles with four. He is also tied for third on the team with six RBI.
- Pitching was the story of yesterday's games as only 13 runs were scored in the doubleheader. The Falcons hit two home runs but the offense couldn't pull much else together in the effort. The pitching staff kept the Hilltoppers in check. Mario Macias had his second straight strong start, going 5.0 innings and struck out five.Â
- The Falcons look to take the final game of the weekend. They have taken a game from the Hilltoppers in every series dating back to 2016.
The Hilltoppers
- The Hilltoppers pitching staff has struck out 101 batters in 85 innings of action.Â
- Yesterday they held the Falcons to just three runs but allowed a pair of home runs.Â
- Josh Graham had three RBI in the doubleheader yesterday to lead their offense.
