The Falcons
  • The Falcons are starting to heat up down the home stretch.  They have won four of their last five since a close loss to then No. 1 Lubbock Christian.
  • DaJuan Jones broke the single season school record for assists on Thursday.  Jones has 156 with three regular season games to go, breaking the previous record of 153 set by Pat Dembley back in 2019-20.
  • Miles Daniels has been a man on a mission over the last few weeks.  The senior has scored at least 16 points in each of the last seven times out, including three 20-plus point performances.  On Thursday he carried the Falcons with 26 points and nine rebounds.
  • The margin for error in the Lone Star Conference is razor thin.  At 7-6 the Falcons are currently tied for the eighth spot in the conference playoffs but sit just a single game from fourth and a first-round bye.
  • Jordan Horn needs just 18 points to reach 800 for his Falcon career, becoming the eighth player to do so.
  • Head Coach Kyle Tolin is closing in on the program record for most wins by a head coach in his first season captaining the program.  Andy Newman holds the record of 17 during the 2013-14 season.
  • The last four regular season matchups between these programs have all been decided by 10 points or less.  Last season they split the series with both games in Odessa.

The Lions
  • The Lions are led by Matthew Wilson who averages an LSC leading 20.2 points per game.
  • They are third in the league in scoring defense, allowing just 64.4 points per game.
  • Outside of their season opening loss, 10 of the Lions losses have been by 10 points or less.
