The Falcons
  • This season, 13 of the Falcons 22 games have been decided by 10 or fewer points.  This includes five of their 10 Lone Star Conference contests.
  • Despite their record, the Falcons have the 11th best scoring margin in the LSC.  Defensively the Falcons give up the seventh fewest points per game in the conference.
  • The Falcons are first in the conference in forced turnovers with 483, as they are ahead of second place Texas A&M International by 24.
  • Avalon Munoz has been one of the best point guards in the LSC, sitting second in the conference with 95 assists only four behind Frances King of Midwestern State.  The freshman is also fourth in steals with 48.
  • Holly Hemmeline is tied for eighth in the conference in three point field goals per game making 1.7 per game.
  • The Falcons took the Dustdevils down to the wire in Laredo on December 4 before the Falcons fell by nine points. Alexus Wykoff led the Falcons with 14 points as Hemmeline was right behind her with 13 points as she made three baskets from beyond the arc.
  • The Falcons had four players hit double digit scoring in their 68-43 win against St. Mary's on Monday. Ogechi Nwodo led the way with 18 points as she shot 8-for-12 from the field. She also collected eight rebounds and a pair of blocks. Kamari Portalis bucketed 16 points while going a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe. Morgan Helgesen and Rory Carter knocked down 12 points apiece. Carter went 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and Helgesen was 3-for-6 from deep.
  • The Falcons are 9-8 in the series with the Dustdevils. The last time these two teams met in Odessa was the 2017-18 season where the Falcons won 70-64.
The Dustdevils
  • The Dustdevils travel to Odessa on a two game winning streak as they beat St. Mary's 76-64 and St. Edward's 63-41.
  • Rai Brown is the focus of the team.  She is second in the LSC averaging 17.3 points per game. In the game earlier this season the Falcons were able to hold Brown to 14 points.
  • Of the 20 games the Dustdevils have played in this year only six have been on the road. Their road record is 2-4 including a 0-3 record during conference play.
