Forward Alexus Quaadman showed off her all-around game on Saturday for UT Permian Basin Women's Basketball.  The junior scored a team-high 14 points, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line against Texas A&M - Kingsville.  The Falcons had a strong game from the charity stripe, combining to go 14-of-17 as a team.

Both offenses struggled to get going early but the Falcons grabbed a 6-0 lead.  The Javelinas scored their first points at the 5:35 mark and closed the quarter strong and eventually led 14-10 after 10 minutes of play.  Morgan Helgesen caught fire to open the second quarter, scoring the first nine Falcon points to keep pace with the visitors.  Trailing 21-19, the Falcons exploded for a 9-0 run to retake the lead, capped off by four-straight Quaadman free throws.  The visitors battled back and eventually evened the score at 30 heading into the half.

Out of the locker rooms the Falcons score the first eight points on the strength of a pair of threes by Helgesen and Holly Hemmeline.  It was another low scoring quarter for both teams, but the Falcons held a three-point advantage heading into the final frame.  Fouls got the Falcons in trouble in the fourth quarter as the Javelinas went to the line 17 times in the final 10 minutes.  The Falcon offense went cold and couldn't keep pace in the eventual 65-55 final.

Helgesen finished with 12 points.  Avalon Munoz had eight points, seven assists, and five boards in the effort.
