Azariah Seay had it going early and often on Monday for UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball. The senior dropped 27 points to go along with six rebounds to close out the Hoops in Hawai'i Classic against RV St. Martin's.
AN early three from Seay gave the Falcons their first lead of the contest but the Saints responded with a run to go up by seven. Seay kept the Falcons close with another three followed by a three from
Keyon Craddock. The senior's bucket at the eight-and-a-half mark tied the score at 19 and from there the teams traded buckets. The Saints wouldn't relinquish the lead down the stretch and the teams went into the locker room 30-26.
Craddock gave the Falcons the lead early in the second half, but the Saints responded with a run to take a double-digit lead. Neither side could grab momentum as they exchanged points for the majority of the half. The Falcons cut the lead to six with four-and-a-half minutes to play but couldn't get any closer in the eventual 77-65 final.
Craddock added 11 points while
Jalen King also scored in double digits with 10 points.
Nathaniel Powell led the team with eight rebounds off the bench.
The Falcons are off the remainder of the week for the holiday break. They're back in action next Thursday at Eastern New Mexico in Lone Star Conference action. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
