King and Seay Combine for 37 in UTPB Debuts

Jalen King and Azariah Seay made a big first impression against Adams State on Friday in Silver City, New Mexico, combining for 37 points in their UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball debuts.  King led the Falcons with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting while Seay added 17 and went 50 percent from the field.

Seay and King started the game with back-to-back threes to give the Falcons the lead.  Both offenses then struggled to get going while the Grizzlies slowly gained the lead.  A DaJuan Jones layup and a jumper by Keyon Craddock put the Falcons on top 21-20.  The Falcons took a four-point lead four times and looked to pull away, but the Grizzlies hung around, eventually sending the game into the locker room with a one-point lead.

The lead traded hands five times early in the second half before a King jumper put the Falcons up 57-51.  The Grizzlies flipped the script and battled back to take a five-point lead with under three minutes to go.  With 18 seconds left a three by Jones cut the deficit to one.  After the Grizzlies missed the front end of a one-and-one, Jones' attempt at a game-winner came up just short in the eventual 72-69 final.

The Falcon bench had 22 points led by Max Warren's seven points.
