The Falcons
- Horn continues to fill the stat sheet and is sitting at 18.0 points per game.  Miles Daniels and DaJuan Jones also eclipse the double digit mark, scoring 15.0 and 13.8 points per game respectfully.
- Jones might already be one of the best point guards in program history. Through 12 games the senior has 100 assists and has eyes on the program single season record of 153. He has five games with double digit assists including 12 against Western Washington and St. Edwards.
- Jones currently sits first in the country in assists per game with 8.3.
- This season the Falcons have buckled down defensively, allowing just 68.8 points per game. That's the lowest total since the 2011-12 season when they allowed 63.4 per game. The last time the Falcons allowed less than 70 points per game was the 2012-13 season in which they gave up 68.9 points per game.
- On January 2, the Falcons won off a buzzer beater in St. Edward's. Daniels got the inbounds pass from Jones and buried the basket to give the Falcons a 66-65 victory in their first Lone Star Conference contest of the year. Three other Falcons eclipsed double digit points as Horn and Howard had 13 points each and Jones had 10. Kendal Frey and Howard led the team with seven rebounds each.
- The Falcons have played in plenty of close games this season. Seven of the 12 games have been decided by single digits, with three games decided by a single point.
- The Falcons boast the third-best turnover margin in the LSC at +5.00. The Falcons have forced 195 turnovers this season while only committing 135.
- This will be the 24th meeting all-time between the Falcons and the Rams. The Falcons trail the series 10-13 all time.
The Rams
- The Rams are receiving votes in the latest NCAA DII polls announced this week. The Rams are 2-3 in their last five games played including losses to Lone Star Conference foes Texas A&M – Kingsville and twice to St. Edward's.
- Eight of their 12 games played have been decided by 10 points or less. In those games they are 7-1 with their lone loss against Texas A&M – Kingsville in overtime.
- The Rams get to the line often as they average 20.2 free throws a game, shooting 70.3 percent from the charity stripe while holding their opponents to 14.9 free throws per game.
- The Rams are 2-3 against LSC opponents during the year and are 7-0 against non-LSC opponents.
