The Falcons
  • The Falcons have gotten used to close games already in 2021-22. 12 of their 18 games have been decided by 10 points or less, and three have come down to a one possession difference.
  • The Falcons lead the Lone Star Conference in forced turnovers with 404 on the season.
  • Alexus Wykoff has been an offensive force this year for the Falcons.  The senior is eighth in the nation in shooting percentage at .621 while averaging 13.7 points.
  • Avalon Munoz is second in the LSC with 74 assists on the season and third in steals with 42.
  • On Thursday, the Falcons were led by Alexus Wykoff and Kamari Portalis on the offensive side. Wykoff had 13 points while Portalis had 10. On the defensive side Wykoff and Ogechi Nwodo led the team with seven rebounds each as the Falcons led the Greyhounds in rebounds 37-30.
  • The Falcons and the Chaps will be meeting for the 15th time in their history. The Falcons are 0-14 in the series against the national powerhouse program
The Chaps
  • The Chaps were on a three-game winning streak until Thursday night when they were defeated by Angelo State 67-63.
  • Before their loss to Angelo State, the Chaps were on fire winning by 20 or more points during the win streak.
  • The Chaps one weakness is their rebounding. They have a -2.1-rebound margin on the season. The Falcons had a good rebounding game on Thursday. If they can control the boards like they did against Eastern New Mexico they increase their chances of an upset.
