The Falcons
  • DaJuan Jones might already be one of the best point guards in program history.  Through 17 games the senior has 132 assists and has eyes on the program single season record of 153.  This season Jones has six games with double digit assists, all other players in program history have combined to do so only nine times.
  • Jones currently leads Division II in assists with 132, 16 clear of Nick Smith of Nova Southeastern.  Jones is tied in the per game category at 7.8 with Max Cody of Minot State.
  • The Falcons have played in plenty of close games this season. Ten of the 176 games have been decided by single digits, with two games decided by a single point.
  • On Thursday, the Falcons went to overtime to defeat Cameron and snap a four-game losing streak.  Jones had 20 points and 11 assists, his third 20-10 game of the season.  Only Pat Dembley in 2019 has accomplished that feat in program history.  Kendal Frey added in 17 points in the effort.
  • The Falcons boast the fourth-best turnover margin in the Lone Star Conference at +3.88.  The Falcons have forced the fourth most turnovers in the conference with 260 this season while only committing 194.
  • Horn is fifth in the conference in scoring averaging 16.0 per game. He is also seventh in field goal percentage shooting .463 from the field.
  • Jones has been money from the charity stripe shooting .896 percent, fourth in the LSC.  He also currently is fourth in the league with 26 steals.
  • Miles Daniels has been one of the better three-point shooters in the LSC.  He is fifth in percentage, .414, and third in made threes per game, 3.1.
  • The Falcons look for their first win over the Buffs since 2017.  Last season in the LSC postseason, the Falcons held the eventual national runner-up to their second lowest point total of the season, 72.
The Buffs
  • The Buffs once again are among the best in Division II and have been nationally ranked all season.  This week they are No. 8 in the NABC Poll.  They have been ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation on two separate occasions.
  • Coming into Saturday, they've lost two of their last five including an upset loss at the hands of Angelo State on Thursday.  The loss snapped a 12-game home winning streak for the Buffs.
  • They are led offensively by one of the few hold overs from last year's roster, Zach Toussaint.  The sophomore leads the team at 15.2 points per game.  He's closely followed by North Texas transfer Larry Wise who scores at a 14.7 per game clip.
