Former UT Permian Basin wide receiver Kyle McBride will get the opportunity to play at the next level right here in the Permian Basin. The second leading receiver in program history has signed with the West Texas Warbirds of the Arena Football Association. Last season the Warbirds won the league championship after going undefeated in the regular season.
McBride had a terrific career with the Falcons and his 1,365 receiving yards are the second most in program history. His name is all over the receiving record books for the Falcons. He ranks third in career receptions with 99 and fourth in touchdowns with nine in just two seasons of action. He holds the second and third most prolific receiving seasons in program history, with 672 yards in 2019 and 635 yards in 2018. The Dayton native also holds the team's single game receptions record with 11 against Angelo State in 2018.
The Warbirds are scheduled to play in the spring in the Ector County Coliseum up the road from the UTPB campus. Download the UTPB Athletics App for the latest news on your favorite Falcon teams.
