Marissa Salinas saved her best stuff in the circle for Senior Day, as she tossed a complete game shutout of Cameron in a 3-0 win. The senior allowed just three hits over seven innings in the Falcons final home game of the season. She also threw 2.1 innings of relief in the first game of the doubleheader without giving up a hit.
Choco Munoz put the Falcons on the board early with a two-run blast to left centerfield for an early 2-0 lead.
Leslie Martinez added another run in the fifth scoring
Abby Hernandez for to push the lead to three. That is all they would need as Salinas kept the Aggie bats in check for the 3-0 victory in the second game of the doubleheader.
Salinas relied on her defense as she struck out two Aggie hitters, while throwing the first shoutout of the season for the Falcons. The defense shined throughout the game. The Falcons turned double plays in three straight innings along with terrific plays in the outfield by Alice Marion and
Ashlynn Bradley to rob the Aggies of extra bases.
The Falcons started early in game one putting up a three spot in the bottom of the first.
Ashlynn Bradley doubled to right center bringing in
April Arellano and
Leslie Martinez to start the scoring. Bradley would later score on a on an
Aracely Araiza single down the right field line to put the Falcons up 3-1. The Falcons would not score until the sixth when
Rylie Reed doubled to right center scoring Araiza as the Falcons fell to the Aggies 10-4.
Araiza and Reed both had multi-hit games for the Falcons. Bradley, Araiza, and Reed each had a double in the game.
Choco Munoz had three hits including her two-run homer in game two to lead the Falcons on the offensive side. Bradley and Arellano had two hits each on the day.
