5-0. That's what UT Permian Basin Football did this spring after defeating Midwestern State 22-21 in overtime on Saturday at Grande Communications Stadium.
Down by seven in overtime, the Falcons faced fourth-and-six when
Brayden Thomas found
Matt Zubiate for the touchdown and just an extra point from tying the game. The Falcons had other intentions, deciding to go for two and the win. Following a Mustang timeout, Thomas found
Kobe Robinson near the pylon for the game-winner.
Not only was this the Falcons first win in an overtime game, but the first time they beat Midwestern State.
The Falcon defense held Midwestern State to 303 total yards and have now won six straight games dating back to last year.
