Alicia Marion continued her strong 2021 season Sunday, picking up a pair of hits at Lubbock Christian. The junior had a pair of singles, raising her batting average to .317 on the year with a team-high 20 hits.
Marion started the afternoon with a single to center field. The Falcons couldn't turn that lead-off single into any more offense. Marion reached second in the sixth inning, but the Falcons weren't able to push her across. The Falcon offense was kept quiet in the doubleheader, recording only three hits on the afternoon with
Mia Quintero picking up the other hit.
Becky Berth got the nod in the circle in game one while
Abby Cousins took the ball in game two. The Falcons dropped the first game 8-0 before falling in the second 10-0.
The Falcons return home this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders. They'll start the week welcoming nationally-ranked Texas A&M – Kingsville on Friday before taking on Texas A&M International on Sunday. Download the UTPB Athletics App today to follow the action all season long.
