Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Four Finish in Double Figures against 2-Seed WT in LSC Quarterfinals

UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball shared the ball Tuesday night, with four players finishing in double figures.  Trevion Lamar led the Falcons with 19 points and seven rebounds while Malik Brikat finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season, and second in four games.

Defensively the Falcons held one of the best offenses in the country well below their scoring average.  Coming into the night, 2-seed West Texas A&M had been averaging more than 90 points a game and were held to a season-low 72 points.  It was a defensive battle early with the Falcons taking an 11-10 lead nearly halfway through the first half on a three by Lamar.  The Buffs responded with an 11-0 run to take momentum.  The Falcons fought in the second half, outscoring the Buffs 33-30 but in the end, it wasn't enough to overcome a 17-point deficit at the half and fell 72-58.

Senior Adam Rivera finished with 12 points and five rebounds, giving him 635 points and 406 rebounds for his career.  The Amarillo native moved into 14th place in program history in scoring and fourth in rebounds since joining the NCAA.  Jay Workman also finished in double figures with 10 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. Wesley Hayes made an impact on both ends with five points and six rebounds, as the Falcons outrebounded the Buffs 34-30.
