Alfonso Aragon played one of his best games on the season Tuesday night, making seven saves against West Texas A&M in a battle of two of the top teams in the Lone Star Conference halfway through the year. Aragon's efforts weren't enough as the Falcons couldn't cash in on their offensive chances and fell to the Buffs 3-1.
The Buffs came out firing early in the first half of play but an amazing three save stand by Aragon kept the ball out from the back of the net. The sophomore made three saves at point blank range back-to-back-to-back.
Despite falling behind 3-0, the Falcon offense never quit as they drew a foul in the box to give them a penalty kick.
Rodrigo Rogatto capitalized on the chance to get the Falcons on the board, but it wasn't enough as they fell 3-1.
The Falcons had shots from
Gustavo Barroso,
Joel Hope, and
Rodrigo Rogatto.
The Falcons will be on the road next week to face Oklahoma Christian at 5:30 PM. To follow all of the action to download the UTPB Athletics App today.
