Berry Goes Out in Style with Upset Win Over MSU

Jada Berry, the lone senior on UT Permian Basin Women's Basketball led her team to an upset of Midwestern State, who came into Saturday second in the Lone Star Conference, 74-66.  Berry was one of four Falcons who reached double digit scoring on the day.  The Falcons scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to come-from-behind and knock off the Mustangs. 
 
Berry started the scoring with a three just six seconds into the game. Midway through the quarter the Falcons held a 10-2 lead, but the Mustangs were able to close strong and even the score at the end of the quarter.
 
The teams traded points much of the second quarter but Chaunta Thomas ended the quarter on a 5-0 personal run to head into the locker room down 31-27.
 
Berry started the second half the same as the first with a three, but the Mustangs widened their lead 50-44 heading into the final quarter.
 
The Falcons started the fourth quarter on a 13-0 run which had a pair of threes Morgan Helgesen and one from Berry. The Falcons took control from the run and held on down the stretch.
 
Morgan Helgesen led the Falcons with 15 points and made all three of her three point attempts off the bench. Jada Berry had 14, Chaunta Thomas with 11 and Rory Carter had 10 points. Alexus Quaadman led with seven rebounds.  Avalon Munoz had five rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
