The Falcons
  • Jordan Horn continues to fill the stat sheet and bumped his scoring average up to 16.9 points per game.  The senior needs just 16 points to reach 500 for his Falcon career.
  • Dajuan Jones might already be one of the best point guards in program history.  Through seven games the senior has 54 assists and has eyes on the program single season record of 153.  He already has two games with double digit assists including 12 against Western Washington.
  • This season the Falcons have buckled down defensively, allowing just 65.9 points per game.  That's the lowest total since the 2011-12 season when they allowed 63.4 per game.  The last time the Falcons allowed less than 70 points per game was the 2012-13 season in which they gave up 68.9 points per game.
  • Last Thursday the Falcons ended Texas A&M – Kingsville's 16-game home winning streak.  The Falcons knocked off the Javelinas 75-65, snapping a five-game losing streak in the match-up.
  • The Falcons have played in plenty of close games this season.  Four of the seven games have been decided by single digits, with two games decided by a single point.
  • The Falcons boast the best turnover margin in the LSC at +7.14.  The Falcons have forced 125 turnovers this season while only committing 75.
  • This will be the 25th meeting all-time between the Falcons and the Hilltoppers.  The Falcons have won 11 of those match-ups, the second most against any opponent.  Last season the Falcons upset then-No. 13 St. Edward's in Austin with a 75-65 victory.
The Hilltoppers
  • The Hilltoppers have won two straight including a 39-point win over Arlington Baptist on Saturday.  Three of the team's five wins have come against non-NCAA opponents.
  • The team distributes the ball well and sits third in the Lone Star Conference with 16 assists per game.  They are second in the conference with 115 total assists, ahead of the Falcons who have 103.
  • They are fourth in the LSC averaging 82.4 points per game.  The team is led by Midland native, Daniel Venzant, who is averaging 17.3 points per game.
