Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Three Record Double-Doubles as Falcons Score Second Most Points in Program History

Picking up where they left off last night, UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball's offense was on fire Saturday afternoon shooting .632 percent from the field and scored 126 points.  The 126 points are the second most in a single game in program history and the most scored in regulation.  The Falcons buried 17 three-pointers, one behind the single game record of 18.

The Falcons got contributions from everywhere as six players finished in double figures and three scored at least 20 points.  Miles Daniels led the way with 27, the most by any Falcon this season, and recorded his first double-double.  Kendal Frey dropped 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.  DaJuan Jones continues to distribute the ball at a record pace with 11 more assists to go along with a season high 22 points.  It's his fifth double-double of the season and third in the last four games.

Jordan Horn finished with 24 points on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three.  Zavon Godwin was 7-for-7 from the field for his 14 points while Max Warren followed last night's strong performance with 12 points.

The Falcons came out scorching against Randall University, shooting .706 from the field in the first half.  They finished the half 8-of-14 from three to build a 31-point lead heading into the locker room.  The team cooled off a bit in the second half but still managed to shoot an outstanding .571 percent from the floor.  The Falcons controlled the paint scoring 60 points and had 36 fast break points in the 126-72 win.  The 54-point margin of victory tied for the third largest margin of victory in program history.

The Falcons take on Division I New Mexico State on Monday in an exhibition and their final game before the holiday break.  Lone Star Conference play starts December 31 in San Antonio against St. Mary's in the Falcons' first action after the break.  Download the UTPB Athletics App for the latest news on your favorite Falcon teams.
