The Falcons
- Jordan Horn continues to fill the stat sheet and bumped his scoring average up to 17.1 points per game. The senior eclipsed the 500 point mark as a Falcon for his career.Â
- DaJuan Jones might already be one of the best point guards in program history. Through eight games the senior has 66 assists and has eyes on the program single season record of 153. He already has three games with double digit assists including 12 against Western Washington and St. Edwards.
- Jones currently sits second in the country in assists per game with 8.25.
- This season the Falcons have buckled down defensively, allowing just 66.9 points per game. That's the lowest total since the 2011-12 season when they allowed 63.4 per game. The last time the Falcons allowed less than 70 points per game was the 2012-13 season in which they gave up 68.9 points per game.
- On Thursday the Falcons returned home in style getting a convincing 81-74 win over the St. Edward's Hilltoppers. Horn led the Falcons with 19 points while DaJuan Jones recorded his third double-double on the season with 16 points and 12 assists. The 12 assists was one shy of the program single game record of 13.
- The Falcons have played in plenty of close games this season. Five of the eight games have been decided by single digits, with two games decided by a single point.
- The Falcons boast the best turnover margin along with West Texas A&M in the LSC at +6. The Falcons have forced 136 turnovers this season while only committing 88.
- This will be the 17th meeting all-time between the Falcons and the Rattlers. The Falcons have won three out of the last five match-ups. This will be the Rattlers first time in the Falcon Dome since January of 2016. The Falcons won 85-76 in that game.
The Rattlers
- The Rattlers won their game last Saturday against NAIA Huston Tillotson 96-70. The Rattlers have played against two Division I schools in Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and UTSA. They also defeated then No. 5 Colorado School of Mines, 82-59, in the South Central Regional Crossover in Lubbock.
- The team distributes the ball well and sits third in the Lone Star Conference with a 1.41 assist / turnover ratio
- They are fifth in the LSC averaging 81.0 points per game. The team is led by Kobe Magee who is averaging 17 point a game.
