The Falcons
- The Falcons cruised over Northwest last night behind some big performances by their starters. Four of the five starters scored in double figures led by Jordan Horn's 19. Dajuan Jones recorded his first double-double as a Falcon, as did Lemmie Howard. Jones finished the night with 12 points and 10 assists while Howard had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Miles Daniels nearly had a double-double of his own with 18 points and nine rebounds in the win.
- Horn has picked up right where he left off last season, leading the Falcons in scoring. So far, the senior is sixth in the Lone Star Conference averaging 17.0 points per game and is sixth in three-point shooting at .481 on the year.
- The Falcons have been contributions from everywhere as three players are averaging at least 10 points per game. Behind Horn, Daniels is averaging 14.8 per game and shooting .517 from three, while Jones is averaging 12.3 points per game.  Howard is just under the double-digit mark at 9.8 points per game.Â
- Jones leads the LSC in assists with 29 and is averaging 7.3 per game. No other player in the LSC is currently averaging more than 5.0 this season.
- This is the first meeting all-time between the Falcons and the Vikings.
The Vikings
- The Vikings have won three in a row, all at home, including an upset of No. 24 Point Loma last night 74-67.
- Even in defeat the Vikings have been competitive, with both of their losses coming by just a single point. They dropped their season opener to Humboldt State on a pair of made free throws with three seconds remaining. In their next game Cal St. Dominguez Hills hit a free throw with three seconds left to complete a 16-point comeback in the final six minutes of action.
- Five Vikings score at least nine points per game with three into double figures. Junior Jalen Green leads the offense with 16.0 points a night.
- The team is susceptible to turnovers, averaging 13.4 per game. They are -23 in turnover margin this season while the Falcons are +33.
