History: This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
 
Alaska - Fairbanks has not played a game since the end of the 2019-2020 season. The Nanooks took the year off last year due to the COVID - 19 pandemic. The teams record at the end of their 2019-2020 season was 7-22 overall. The Nanooks top returner is sophomore Sam Tolliver. Tolliver led the GNAC freshmen in scoring with 391 points averaging 14 points per game. She is also on the 2021-22 GNAC Preseason All - Conference Team. 
 
The Falcons collected one of their best defensive performances in school history in their last game against South Dakota Mines. They forced the Hardrockers to turn the ball over 33 times, which is tied for the fourth most forced turnovers in Falcon Women's Basketball history. Avalon Munoz led the team with seven steals during the Falcons 63-36 victory.
 
Alexus Wykoff led the Falcons with 12 points. Munoz also had a team high four assists along with the seven steals. Alexus Quaadman had nine rebounds and a block to lead the Falcons in each category.
