UT Permian Basin Women's Basketball has come close the last two seasons to their first Lone Star Conference playoff bid. This season the Falcons return 13 players with experience under Head Coach
Rae Boothe and hope to use that experience to get over the hump and back into the postseason.
The Falcons have a young roster after all players were granted an extra year due to COVID. The roster features seven freshmen and three sophomores, in terms of eligibility. Those sophomores are familiar faces to the program,
Rory Carter,
Holly Hemmeline, and
Alexus Quaadman.
ROSTER
Carter led the Falcons in free throw percentage a year ago and was second on the team in assists. Hemmeline returns after a year off and looks to regain the form she had as a freshman. The Denver City native set the program record for freshman scoring with 369 points (13.2 per game) in 2019-20 and was named to the All-LSC Third Team and All-Freshman Team. Quaadman has also had a historic career in a short time in Odessa. Last season she averaged 7.1 points per game and 6.9 rebounds. In just two seasons she holds program records for blocks and double-doubles as well as the single season record for rebounds.
Avalon Munoz and
Morgan Helgesen return after stellar freshman campaigns. Munoz earned a starting nose with tough defense and led the Falcons with 42 steals and orchestrated the offense with a team-high 60 assists. Helgesen was the leading scorer among the freshman with 107 points on the year and was also the team's second leading rebounder at 4.2 per game.
