Scouting the Lions
The Lions are 12-9, 10-5 on the season as they went 1-1 during last week's matches. The Lions swept Texas Women's in three sets and lost in four sets to UT Tyler. They currently hold the No. 5 seed in the Lone Star Conference standings.
The Lions are powered offensively by Essence Allen who leads the team with 211 kills. Celeste Vela leads the conference with 824 assists and Lyric Hebert leads the team in service aces with 28.
On the defensive side Hebert leads the Lions with 370 digs and Maiya Dickie guards the net with 70 blocks.
Your Falcons
The Falcons are still solidly in the LSC playoffs holding the seventh spot in the LSC standings. They are looking to get back into the in the win column and gain momentum heading into the playoffs which start Tuesday. It is not determined if the Falcons will be on the road or in the Falcon Dome just yet, but they do control their own destiny for a home playoff match.
The Falcons last week were led by
Taurie Magee and
Analise Lucio. Magee had a perfect attacking percentage against Texas Woman's on Friday. She had 14 kills with no errors, her third match of the year with no errors. Magee had a total of 20 kills with six blocks during their two matches on the road.
Lucio's 52 assists over the weekend put her over 700 for the season. She also helped the defense with 15 digs in their two matches. She has the fourth most assists in the conference with 721 and has 2,522 assists in her Falcon career.
Falcon Rankings in the Lone Star Conference
Aquincia Strambler has the fifth most kills with 283.
Daylee Doggett is second in the conference in digs with 395 on the season.
