UT Permian Basin Swim and Dive had a strong Saturday taking eight events at Trinity, including three of the four diving contests.
Matthew Lenzo swept the boards and qualified for NCAA zones while
Kathe Hepfer won the 3-meter and took second in the 1-meter to also qualify. Overall, the team took home first place in eight events.
Niklas Heelein continued his amazing start and took the 1000-yard freestyle by more than 25 seconds. Jazzy Tscherne then took the 100-yard backstroke by nearly four seconds over the next closest finisher. The Falcons cleaned up the 500-yard freestyle with four of the top five finishes. Heelein took first and was followed by

Evan Siegrist. In the 200 IM
Matthew Newman and Dan Bednarski went back-to-back, just half a second apart. The Falcons also claimed the final event of the day, the men's 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Heelein,
Armando Flores,
Alex Wickens, and
Trevor Heath squeaked it out by 0.2 seconds.
