Scouting the Opponent

Oklahoma Christian is 1-9-3, 0-5-1 on the year. The Eagles only victory came against Newman as they scored five goals in that match. Against ranked opponents the Eagles are 0-3-1, but they have gone into overtime three out of the four times against them. The Eagles last match, against Dallas Baptist, went into overtime as well as they fell 3-2. Before scoring two goals in that match the Eagles went on a three match scoreless streak.

Offensively the Eagles are led by John Osadolor Ighede with five goals while Miguel Fonseca has five assists. Defensively they are anchored by Anthony Trabichet who has allowed 24 goals while saving 56. He has one shutout in the 13 matches he has started.

Series History

This is the 12th meeting between the two teams with the Falcons winning their last match during the 2021 spring season 1-0 in Oklahoma City.

Your Falcons

The Falcons are coming off a match against No. 25 West Texas A&M where they scored three goals and led at the half. Victor Radilla intercepted a pass, made a quick turn towards the goal, and scored on a beautiful solo effort to put the Falcons up 1-0 in the 14th minute. Leonardo Bonelli scored his first goal of the year on a header off a corner kick from Gustavo Barroso to put the Falcons up 2-1 at the half. Barroso put in a late penalty kick in the 87th minute for the Falcons third goal of the game and his fourth of the season.

The Falcons finished their opportunities in their game against West Texas A&M and almost came away with the upset victory on the road. The Falcons look to build on that momentum and carry it into Saturday against Oklahoma Christian to give the home fans a victory.

Alfonso Aragon eclipsed 200 saves as a Falcon in his career on Wednesday and he is only the third Falcon to do so. He sits third in program history in career saves as he is 25 away from being in sole possession of second place and 39 away from being the all-time saves leader dating back to 2009.

Barroso has four goals on the season and Salvador Vargas Ramos has four assists to lead the Falcons offensively. On the defensive side Aragon leads the team in saves with 63 in 13 games.
