Your Falcons
The Falcons are coming off a week where they got their first Lone Star Conference victory of the season.
Lexie Gilley was the offensive hero in the match scoring the lone goal between the two teams in a 1-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico. In that game, the Falcons took 11 shots with eight of them being on net. The eight shots on goal was their second highest total of the season dating back to their home opener against Southern Nazarene when they had 11.
Jenna McEnaney saved seven shots as she earned her first shutout in LSC play and the second shutout in her Falcon career.
The Falcons then traveled to face St. Mary's on Saturday where the offense still managed to apply pressure. The Falcons ripped five shots by five different players and forced a corner kick.
The Falcons are set to keep their offensive momentum rolling in their games this week. The Dustdevils are one point ahead of them in the LSC standings and the Falcons are hoping to soar into Laredo and pick up their second conference win of the season and overtake the Dustdevils in the standings.
McEnaney continues to lead the Lone Star Conference in saves with 96 on the year. She is also climbing the Falcon rankings for saves in a single season. She currently sits ninth in program history and 13 saves away from breaking the top five in a single season.
Yarely Orona leads the Falcons with three goals on the year, while Sanchez and
Hannah Gore have an assist each.
Yareli Barrera leads the Falcons in shots with 14 on the year. Orona,
Alexandra Sanchez,
Madi Grace Carriello, and Tania Garcia have 10 shots each. Barrera and Sanchez lead the team with six shots on goal each.
