Yareli Barrera found the top left corner of the net off a free kick in the 23
rd minute against Midwestern State. The shot, from Barrera's right boot, dipped just under the crossbar and just over the outstretched reach of the MSU keeper to cut the Mustang lead in half about halfway through the first half.
In the second half, the Mustangs had opportunities turned away by the Falcon defense getting in the way of their shots, but it wasn't enough as the Mustangs won 5-1.
The Falcons recorded five shots from five different players including Barrera.
Lexie Gilley,
Nariah Munoz,
Tyeliyah Jones, and
Olivia Rees also had shots for the Falcons.
Jenna McEnaney recorded eight saves on the night as she remains the Lone Star Conference leader for saves.
The Falcons hit the road as they travel to Austin, TX to battle against St. Edward's in a Lone Star Conference match up. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow UTPB Women's Soccer all season long.
