Freshman Aracely Araiza continued her red hot start Sunday, driving in four as the Falcons defeated Hawaii-Hilo 6-4.  She now leads the Falcons with a .424 batting average, along with six extra base hits and eight RBI.

Araiza got the Falcons (8-7) on the board in the top of the first, bringing in Jessica Gonzales and Lani Graft with a two-run double.  The Falcons added to their lead in the third.  Ruby Sanchez brought in Graft with a fielder's choice.  Later in the inning Valerie Gonzalez singled in Araiza to put the Falcons up 4-0.  

The Vulcans made things interesting, scoring twice in the third and again in the fourth to make it a 4-3 ballgame.  The Falcons rallied in the sixth, to score a pair of huge insurance runs that proved the difference in the game.  Leslie Martinez singled to get things going and was followed by singles by Gonzales and Graft to load the bases.  After a force out at home for the inning's second out, Araiza stepped to the plate and singled in a pair to push the lead back to three.  The Vulcans responded in the sixth with a run but that was as close as they'd get, with the Falcons hanging on for the 6-4 win.

The Falcons combined for 10 hits as a team with Araiza, Gonzales and Graft each recording two a piece.  Graft scored a team-high three times while Gonzales scored a pair herself.

The Falcons return to Texas for a three-game weekend up in Lubbock, before hosting the University of the Southwest in their home opener on February 25.
