Jakob Beschel scored his second goal of the season and Sebastian Kristofferson added his first of the year, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons fell 3-2 to open Lone Star Conference play at Lubbock Christian.  

The Falcons (2-4, 0-1) got things started in the seventh minute on the afternoon.  After an errant Chap (5-2, 1-0) in their own half, Kristofferson beat the defender to the ball on the fast break and put it passed the goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead.  The Chaps would answer just a few minutes later to tie the game on a breakaway goal to tie the game.  After that score, both defenses settled in until the 42nd minute.  The Falcons pushed the ball into the offensive zone and a deflected shot ended up in the corner to Sergio Morgado.  Morgado crossed the kick to Beshcel who flicked the ball with his right foot in the air passed the keeper to go up 2-1 heading into the half.  

The Falcons had a chance early in the second half to go up another goal but Sergio Gonzalez's header went just wide right.  The Chaps got the ball right after and scored on the fast break to tie the game at two.  They'd add another six minutes later to take the lead at 3-2.  The Falcons had their chances at the end of the ballgame including back to back corner kicks in the final minutes but were unable to find the equalizer.

Alfonso Aragon made five saves including a fantastic save in the final minutes to hold the score at one.  Richard Baguio and Andre Luis Lima registered shots on goal for the Falcons.

The Falcons head to Portales next to take on No. 9 Eastern New Mexico in a Saturday showdown.
