UT Permian Basin men's soccer fired on the net 19 times but couldn't break through in a 3-0 loss at CSU East Bay.
The Pioneers (1-2) scored just four minutes into the game before the Falcons (1-2) registered a shot. After the Falcons shot three times, the Pioneers put in another goal at the 11:50 mark to go up 2-0 on the Falcons. The Falcons continued to fire on net with
Salvador Vargas Ramos and
Michael Nweke getting shots on the net.
The Falcons fell behind 3-0 after allowing another goal early in the second half. They'd continue to fight, getting off 10 shots in the second half but they couldn't connect.
Gregory Echols and Vargas Ramos each had multiple shots on goal. The Falcons wrap-up their west coast swing Tuesday against Stanislaus State beginning at 4 p.m.
