Ntor-Ue Leads Falcon Offense on Senior Day

6On a day in which UT Permian Basin honored their seniors, junior Lemia Ntor-Ue led the Falcon offense in their 69-56 defeat by Tarleton State. 
 
Things started slowly for the Falcons (4-23) falling behind 9-0.  They would answer with a run to cut into the TexAnn (20-7) lead, and a Sarah Bersang three made it a two-point game.  The TexAnns would close with a run though ending the first quarter up 17-10.  After a TexAnn basket to open the second quarter before a 12-0 Falcon run. 
 
Nyachristmas Puok opened the run with a basket, followed by another Bersang three.  After a pair of Khali Pippins-Tryon free throws, Puok would knock down a three followed by an Ntor-Ue bucket to grab a 22-19 lead.  The teams would trade baskets before Chynna Rivera's three tied the game again.  The TexAnns would score in the final minutes to head into the half up 35-31.
 
The TexAnns would try to pull away but an Ntor-Ue three-point play cut the deficit to back to four.  The teams would end the quarter trading points ending the period with the Falcons trailing 51-44.  The TexAnns would open the fourth with an 8-0 run to take control of the game.  They'd continue to keep the lead at double digits and with 1:14 remaining Pippins-Tryon, Bersang and Rivera checked out for the final time in black and orange. 
 
Ntor-Ue led the Falcons with 15 points on 5-11 shooting including 5-5 from the free throw line.  Of the seniors, Bersang was the high scorer with 13 points along with six rebounds.  Pippins-Tryon finished with eight points and Rivera had five points.  Rivera finished her career with a career-high nine rebounds.  Pippins-Tryon finished her Falcon career with 731 points, finishing seventh in program history in scoring.
