Box Score Jacob Ledoux recorded his first double double of the season Thursday night, leading the Falcons with 26 points and 12 rebounds, but the Falcons were unable to recover after falling behind by 18 points at halftime in an 88-63 loss against Texas A&M Kingsville in Kingsville, Texas.
Despite holding a 47-40 rebounding advantage, including 13 offensive rebounds on the night, the shots didn't fall for the Falcons. UTPB shot just 32.8 percent as a team from the field, hit only 59 percent from the free throw line (22-37), and were only 3-17 from 3-point range.
UTPB held Kingsville to 42 percent shooting on the night, but the Javelinas hit 13 3-pointers and out-scored the Falcons 19-8 off of turnovers.
Miles Washington added 15 points with nine rebounds for UTPB, while
Xavier Ledet had 10 points and eight rebounds for UTPB.
Darius Mickens led the Javelinas with 23 points off of the bench for Kingsville. Rashon Thomas hit four 3-pointers in adding 14 points.
The Falcons close out their 2018-19 road portion of the schedule Saturday when they travel to San Angelo, Texas, for a 4 p.m. tip off at Angelo State.
