UT Permian Basin sophomore outside hitter Quincy Strambler had a career day for the Falcons, but UAFS rebounded after struggling in the first game to sweep games two through four in a 25-15, 18-25, 15-25, 17-25 loss to the Lions to cap the team's final road trip of the regular season in Fort Smith, Ark.
Strambler led the Falcons with 19 kills in the four-set match, besting her previous high of 16 kills in a five-set contest at Texas Woman's earlier this season.
The Falcons played lights out in the opening set, committing just one error to 15 kills in hitting .500 and used a nine-point run in the 25-15 set win.
The tables turned over the remainder of the match as UTPB had 23 errors over the next three sets, including seven errors to seven kills in the fourth and final set of the match.
Skyler Friel and
Isela Murillo each added six kills on the day for the Falcons.
Analise Lucio had 37 assists at setter, tying a match best, and
Megan Ashton had a team-leading 16 digs on the afternoon.
UT Permian Basin returns home this week to close out the regular season, hosting Eastern New Mexico Thursday night before wrapping up the regular season against West Texas A&M Saturday afternoon.
