The UT Permian Basin defense bunkered down against 30 shots on the afternoon but it wasn't enough as the Falcons fell 3-0 to Lubbock Christian.
The Falcons (1-12-1, 1-9-1) were on the defensive early with the Lady Chaps (11-4-1, 9-2-1) taking two shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of action.
Sarah Sanchez answered with a shot of her own but missed high right at the 10 minute mark. The Lady Chaps continued to pepper the net, but
Marlise Bond was up to the task making four save and sending the game into the half scoreless.
The game remained scoreless in the second half for 97 seconds before the Lady Chaps flicked a redirection into the corner of the net to break the tie. Four minutes later a foul inside the box gave the Lady Chaps a penalty kick that they converted to go up 2-0. They'd add a third goal later in the half for the 3-0 final.
