The Falcons (1-2) came out firing, knocking down three three-pointers to grab a 20-3 lead just five minutes into the game. A late run to close the quarter by the Patriots (1-2) got them to within seven, but that's as close as they would get. The Falcons pulled away in the second quarter, with Quaadman scoring the first eight points of the quarter. After
Jordan Rogers sank a pair of free throws, the Falcons went into the half up 58-28. The Falcons continued to spread the ball around in the third as they stretched the lead to 45. In the second and third quarters the defense held the Patriots to 14 points on 4-for-26 shooting and 0-for-12 from deep. The Falcons pushed the lead to as many as 48 before trading baskets the rest of the way before the final horn.
Kristian James was also in double figures for the Falcons with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Jordan Rogers had nine points while
Lauren Stallworth,
Chaunta Thomas and
Jada Berry each scored eight points. Stallworth also had six rebounds off the bench. As a team the Falcons had 26 assists with
Kayla Galindo and
Holly Hemmeline leading the way with five a piece and Rogers and Carter adding four. The Falcons won the battle on the boards grabbing 51 rebounds against only 36.
The Falcons hit the road on Thursday to take on Dallas Christian with tip-off scheduled for for 5 p.m.
