The UT Permian Basin offense came to life in the second half, firing 10 shots against No. 13 MSU Texas, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons (2-7, 0-4) fell 6-0 to the Mustangs (8-1).
Neither offense could get going early as neither team registered a shot until nearly nine minutes into the contest. The Mustangs broke through in the 15
th minute of action before adding another a few minutes later to go up 2-0. They'd continue to attack the Falcon net adding another before heading into the half.
The Falcon offense came out firing three shots in the first five minutes of the second half. They couldn't convert before the Mustangs scored once again. The Falcons continued to push the offense, attacking the Mustangs but couldn't find the back of the net before the Mustangs added to their lead ending in a 6-0 final.
Sergio Gonzalez and
Kasper Wallstroem each had a pair of shots for the Falcons.
Alfonso Aragon had four saves in one half of action.
The Falcons hit the road and take on Dallas Baptist on Thursday before taking on St. Edward's on Saturday.
