Falcons Tighten Defense in Second Half Against #18 DBU

Playing shorthanded, UT Permian Basin fell to No. 18 Dallas Baptist University 6-0, holding the nationally ranked Patriots to two second half goals despite playing the game with just 10 players.

Tha Falcon (0-6, 0-3) defense dug in early holding a high line and holding the Patriots (6-0-1) scoreless until the 16th minute.  The Patriots drew a foul in the box and converted on a penalty kick for the first goal of the game.  They'd score again in the 29th minute and score just 80 seconds later for a 3-0 lead.  The Falcons continued to fight despite being out-manned and went into the half trailing 4-0 after giving up a goal in the 39th minute.  The Patriots added a pair of goals in the second half for the 6-0 final, but the Falcons had more chances in the second half.  Kessie Stocker had a pair of second half shots as the Falcons possessed the ball more.

Marlise Bond made seven more saves in net giving her 38, putting her fifth in the Lone Star Conference.  Ariel Roybal also had a shot on goal.

Up next, the Falcons remain at home to take on Texas Woman's University, Saturday starting at 3 p.m.
