Calhoun Fires Four Shots on Goal as Falcons Battle Elements at OC

Deonna Calhoun fired off a game-high four shots on goal as UT Permian Basin fell to Oklahoma Christian in a cold, rainy match, 2-0.
 
The Eagles (2-11, 2-6) opened the scoring in just the fourth minute of action to grab the early 1-0 lead.  The Falcons (1-10-1, 1-7-1) had a chance in the 15th and 21st minutes with Calhoun firing on goal both times.  Conditions didn't improve as the team went into the half with that score.
 
The Eagles struck quickly in the second half, scoring again 1:13 into the second half to go up 2-0.  The Falcons wouldn't quit, getting off five shots on goal but were unable to find the back of the net in the end.
 
Calhoun led the Falcons with five shots.  Lauren Marenco had four shots with one landing on goal.  Marlise Bond had seven saves in net for the Falcons.
 
The Falcons remain on the road with a crucial Lone Star Conference match-up on Saturday as they take on Midwestern State as they battle for the eighth seed in the conference.
