UT Permian Basin men's and women's swimming and diving recognized the careers of six student-athletes Saturday afternoon as the Falcons competed in their final regular season contest of 2018-1 while picking up a combined victory against Southwestern. The Falcon men picked up a 144.5-81.5 victory over Southwestern, and the Southwestern women defeated UTPB 122-88 at COM Aquatics in Midland, Texas.

FINAL RESULTS

Claire Balmer, Jennifer Long, and Sarah Waldren each competed at home for the last time for the UTPB women, and Gustavo Damis Resende, Matt Hayward and Nolan Hines each took to the pool for the final time at home for the men's team Saturday.

"I was really pleased with the results of today's meet," said head coach Cameron Kainer. " We have been working really hard and pushing through tough practices, and to have this result today will help build confidence once we are rested. I was proud of our seniors in their swims and their help with building the team to what it is today."

The Falcons got wins from four seniors Saturday. Hayward earned a win in the men's 200 Freestyle with a winning time of 1:46.76. Damis Resende added a victory in the men's 100 Backstroke, taking first place in 54.57.

Sarah Waldren had a first place time of 25.73 for the UTPB women to win the women's 50 Freestyle, and Claire Balmer wom the women's 1,000 Freestyle in 12:21.63.
