In a back and forth affair UT Permian Basin women's basketball fell to Cameron 77-67 in overtime despite 20 points from
Sarah Bersang.
Both teams would trade points to open the game before the Falcons (3-11, 0-6) would connect from long-range.Â
Jada Berry would hit a three before
Teya Morris would connect on back to back possessions for a 14-7 lead after a quarter. A balanced Falcon attack would keep the lead at seven, but the Aggies (5-9, 2-4) would answer with a 6-0 run. Nyachristmas Puok's free throws pushed the lead back to three but the Aggies would answer sending the game to halftime with the Falcons up 27-26.

Lemia Ntor-Ue pushed the Falcon lead to eight early in the third quarter. The Aggies would chip away by back to back lay-ups by Ntor-Ue kept the Falcons in front. A lay-up by
Khali Pippins-Tryon pushed the Falcon lead to a game-high of 10 by the Aggies would chip away ending the third period 50-46 Falcons. An Ava Battese three gave the Aggies their first lead since the first quarter at 51-50.Â
Sarah Bersang would sandwich an Aggie basket with four points of her own then an Ntor-Ue lay-in would make it 56-53 Falcons. The teams would continue to trade blows before a 2:20 scoring drought with the Falcons leading by a point. Maighan Hedge would hit a pair of free throws to give the Aggies the lead with just over a minute to go, but Bersang would be fouled on the inbounds pass. She would tie the game at 61 with a free throw of her own. On the ensuing possession, Hedge would hit a lay-up to retake the lead with 40 seconds to play. Akinwole would draw a foul and sink the pair and the game would go to overtime tied at 63. The Aggie offense would take over in the overtime period jumping out to a nine point lead. The Falcons would add a pair of free throws but it would be all the offense they could get for the 77-67 final.
Bersang finished as the high scorer for the Falcons with 20, breaking her season-high that she set Thursday. Along with the 20 points the senior finished with six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Ntor-Ue would finish with 15 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. The Falcons would grab 22 offensive rebounds and force 18 turnovers in the effort.Â
The Falcons return home to take on Angelo State on Thursday and Texas A&M - Kingsville on Saturday.
