The UT Permian Basin (5-4, 0-1) volleyball team opened their Lone Star Conference schedule with a 3-0 loss at Texas A&M - Kingsville (7-3, 2-0).
UTPB lost the first set 25-14, 25-20 and 25-23. UTPB hit .063 percent as a team while holding Kingsville to .163 percent. Kingsville had eight errors in the final set after committing just 10 through the first two.
Skyler Friel led UTPB with seven kills and a .250 percentage.
Aquincia Strambler added six kills while
Puava Tulau and
Marissa Aguilar each added five kills.
Analise Lucio had a team-high 12 assists and added 12 digs.
Megan Ashton led the team with 18 digs.
UTPB comes home for the first time this season on Tuesday when they take on Lone Star Conference opponent Eastern New Mexico and then host Midwestern State on Friday and Cameron on Saturday.
