The UT Permian Basin Falcons men's soccer team kicks off its season this weekend with a pair of non-conference home games. They open the season Thursday at 1 p.m. against the Dixie State Trailblazers followed up by a home match-up with the Fort Lewis Skyhawks on Saturday at 7 p.m.

UTPB finished the 2017 season with a 9-7-2 record and an 8-6 record in the Heartland Conference. The team won six of their final seven games before falling in penalty kicks to Texas A&M International in the Heartland Conference Championships. Senior
Brandon Lee was named Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year while
Stefan Faria was named to the All-Conference Second Team and
Alex Clark was selected Honorable Mention.
Dixie State finished the 2017 season with a 12-5 overall record and a fifth place finish in the PacWest Conference with an 8-5 record. Dixie State has won at least 10 games the last three seasons including a trip to the NCAA Division II West Regional in 2016.
Fort Lewis went 10-6-4 last season and finished third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 9-3-2 record. They were eliminated in the second round of the RMAC Championships by Colorado Mesa. Fort Lewis is a three-time NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Champion (2005, 2009, and 2011) and two-time national runner-up (1999 and 2006).
