4/28/2018 9:49:00 PM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 UT Permian Basin baseball ended up playing from behind twice and was unable to catch up in both games of a Saturday doubleheader, falling twice against Angelo State 8-4 and 8-3 at Roden Field in Odessa.

Angelo State scored a pair of runs in each of the second and third innings, the third and fourth runs coming on a two-run home run by Nick Novak for a 4-0 advantage.

Tony Oslovar grabbed one back in the Falcon half of the third inning, hitting a sac fly to score Chris Ortega.

The Rams came back with three runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Ortega scored one for the Falcons with a bases-loaded ground out to third in the bottom of the sixth, and Oslovar drove home two with a single back up the middle.

Oslovar led the Falcons with a pair of hits and three RBI out of the leadoff spot for UTPB.

The Falcons scored their first in game two after trailing 6-0, getting on the scoreboard when Skyler Palermo came home from third on a groundout by Alex Wixson to first.

UTPB scored the final runs of the game in the sixth as Palermo scored his second of the game on a Dalton Drury double to left center, and he later came in when Tyler Vlasek reached base on an error at shortstop.

Between games, the Falcons recognized the five members of their senior class playing in their final home games this weekend. Mike Fernandez, Dalton Drury, David Fetkenher, Chris Ortega and Mitchell Hazlett were honored in a ceremony thanking them for their time at UTPB along with their family and friends.

The two teams close out the four-game set Sunday, with first pitch set for 1 p.m.
