#10 Cameron blanked UT Permian Basin softball in a pair of Lone Star Conference softball games Friday afternoon 4-0 and 7-0 at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.
The Falcons trailed 1-0 in the opener until the Aggies grabbed three unearned runs in the sixth and seventh innings for a four-run buffer.
Alyssa Lopez had a pair of singles in two at-bats, and Cindy Juarez a hit and walk in three plate appearances.
Maritza Rojas gave up four hits and four walks in 6.1 innings, striking out one and allowing just one earned run.Â
Bethany Hines allowed six hits and a pair of walks, striking out four in the seven-inning win.
Kaitlyn Alvarado and Bethany Hines each drove in a run in the third and fourth innings of game two for Cameron for a 2-0 lead, but a three-run homer by Brenna Busby more than doubled the advantage to 5-0 in the top of the fourth.
Rylee Willmon limited the Falcons to a pair of hits and one walk while striking out seven for Cameron in the circle.
Both teams are back in action closing out the three game series Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
