UT Permian Basin softball was held to just one hit Sunday afternoon as Midwestern State claimed a 3-1 victory in game three of a three-game Lone Star Conference series at the UTPB Softball Field in Odessa.
Lizzie Souza had the Falcons lone base hit, A run-scoring single into center field that drove home Amanda Aldriedge from third in the bottom of the fifth.
The Mustangs took the lead in their first inning at the plate when Carli Woolsey hit a single off the wall in center field to score Samantha Loos and Kelsey Eropkin.
A Kelcee Thompson double in the top of the fifth scored Midwestern State's third run of the game.
Abbie Lancaster earned the win, allowing one hit and three walks with an unearned run and got out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the fifth as UTPB left three runners stranded.
UTPBÂ is in non-conference action this week, hosting Sul Ross at home. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
