UT Permian Basin volleyball had one of its most complete wins of the season to open its final weekend of the regular season Friday, scoring a 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20 victory over Angelo State to clinch a trip to next week's Lone Star Conference Championships in Stephenville, Texas.

The Falcons (13-15, 8-11) made their move halfway through the first set, scoring six of eight points to take a 17-14 lead after back to back blocks by
Skyler Friel and
Aquincia Strambler, and
Puava Tulau and Friel on back to back plays. Despite Angelo State tying the set at 22-22 and 23-23, the Falcons closed it out by winning the final two points on blocks from Tulau/
Travana Matthews and Friel/Tulau for the two-point victory.
UT Permian Basin used hot starts in the third and fourth sets, winning the first four points of each in the victory Friday night. The Falcons had to rebound in the third after falling behind 11-10, but came back to lead 17-15 on a pair of kills by Strambler. The teams traded points back and forth until the Falcons served for set point at 24-20. The Belles pulled within a point and had a serve to tie, but a serve into the net gave the Falcons the 2-1 lead after three.
Angelo State (21-8, 14-5) erased the Falcon lead again in the fourth, but a five-point run midway through the set by UTPB, the final two on attack errors from ASU, helped the Falcons back out to a 17-12 advantage, and a four-point stretch by UTPB with kills from Friel and Robinson, a block by Friel and Robinson, and an ace by
Kiera Granado put UTPB in the driver's seat at 21-15. ASU would later score three straight points to pull within 23-20, but the Falcons won the final two points of the night, taking the match on a block by Matthews and
Analise Lucio, their 14th of the night.
The Falcons weathered Audrey Fragniere hitting 23 kills on the night with a .325 percentage for the Belles. Despite having 13 more kills than the Falcons, Angelo State also committed nine more errors than UTPB.
